Hot Tea

and Meditation Is Life

My Secret!!

I’ve been keeping a secret from you ladies. For the past few weeks I’ve been working on a project every free moment I had and I’m finally ready to let know you what it is. I will tell you more about it in just a moment (behind the scene photos further down), but first, let’s get to the title of this blog post.

HOT TEA AND MEDITATION IS LIFE!

Yeah… I said it!

A few months ago, I wrote an article titled Hygge- Mindfulness Intensified. You can read the blog here. But to quickly review, hygge is a Dutch term used to identify a special moment that is cozy and charming. In it I mentioned each morning consuming hot tea was my hygge, as it provided pleasurable memories of events and emotions I’ve experienced with my family.

Not only does hot tea activate awesome emotions for me but it can also cause a relaxing effect for others. So can meditation! For many individuals in the USA it’s difficult to slow down the racing brain. A couple of reasons why so many have difficulty with meditation are: 1) We are often taught being productive means your body should be moving and 2) Many schools and households do not incorporate skills to meditate effectively.

Reoccurring Themes

A number of individuals have approached me with a reoccurring theme regarding meditation, stating meditation appears to be easy, but in actuality, it is difficult. I also hear statements like:

I’m not sure I’m meditating the right way.
What does focus on the breath really mean, should I be listening to it…what?!

At the end of the day, relaxing the body and mind shouldn’t be so difficult…if it came natural to us. Just like there are different learning styles, there are different meditation styles. So, if simply breathing isn’t working for you, why not add movement, touch, feel, sound, or taste?

*Do you get the hint?!!*

I mean, if hot tea is hygge and meditation is refreshing- wouldn’t combining them equal LIT!

Thich Nhat Hanh seems to think so.

Check out the video below so you can hear what Thich Nhat Hanh has to say about hot tea and meditation.

…I don’t think of the past anymore. I don’t think of the future anymore. I’m free of the past…from the future.
~ Thick Nhat Hanh

Thich Nhat Hanh has it right! Being free from the past and free from the future, sounds like the “relief bomb” that many of us need in our lives.

Just imagine, not worrying about your next errand.

How about the five minutes you’ve needed to yourself…without supervisors making requests? Or family arguments sucking up all of your energy?

That moment I just mentioned… is accessible to you with the use of Hot tea and meditation.

That is why hot tea and meditation is life!

As I’ve stated earlier, I’m working on project for you. Here are a few images of what’s going on.
