My Approach

Welcome! I'm glad you stopped by. My name is Reynelda Jones and I'm here to help. My goal as a therapist is to offer a safe and compassionate place where I counsel clients from all over  Michigan to become empowered and gain support as they navigate through the challenges of life.  No matter what you're going through, whether it is stress, anxiety or Posttraumatic Stress Disorder there is hope!

I don’t see you as broken. You have the natural ability to be calm within you. But stress, anxiety, trauma responses, difficulty with managing emotions, and negative thought processes get in your way. Perhaps you desire to increase your coping tools to self-soothe in healthy ways. Together we can rediscover those parts of you.

I am supportive of your journey. Even if the rediscovery of your abilities and the enhancement of your natural gifts is a challenge for you.

Healing comes in many forms. You can address your healing in many ways. Ways I can assist you is through the use of various therapeutic techniques such as environmental exploration, nutrition exploration, mindfulness, auricular acupuncture, therapy packages, suggested resources, as well as, traditional talk therapy, etc. Counseling is not “one size fits all.”

Your whole-self matters to me. Although I utilize particular alternative medicine approaches, I am open. Therefore, I invite you to bring your culture, traditions and ritutuals into the therapeutic space for your healing journey.

Fun Facts: My self-care and hobbies to reduce stress is through the use of singing, songwriting, writing poetry and creatively re-purposing items in my spare time. At the current moment, Pinterest and Youtube are my new “best friends” in addition to my family. I also love creating beautiful products that are relaxing to the eyes, mind, body and home such as my Worthy of Royalty Self-Care Product Line. I frequent the gym for additional self-care. My favorite undergrad course is Kiswahili, though I am not fluid in the language.

Licensure, Education, Certifications: I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LMSW-C), Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC), Certified Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist (ADS), and Certified IntegrativeMental Health Practitioner (CIMHP).

I graduated from Michigan State University where I obtained my Bachelors of Science in Anthropology, followed by a Masters in Social Work from Grand Valley State University. Throughout my graduate years, I became a certified fitness instructor and substitute teacher with long-term assignments. With over a decade of experience in the social work field, personal experience, studying the mind-body connection, and developing successful therapeutic curriculum and groups for local agencies primarily for women and families; I chose to use my skills to develop A Solution B - a mental health counseling private practice with an infusion of holistic approaches to address the mind, body, and home of my clients.

I am always learning. I am a firm believer in continued learning, plus it is a professional requirement in order to offer counseling. I often attend relevant conferences and workshops. I research effective, evidence-based and non-evidenced based practices with a holistic, non-evasive approach. Some of this updated information can be found in on this website in The Chat Trap Blog. Last but not least, in my sessions, I often suggest books and quick self-help material to assist individuals with emotional wellness. You can learn a bit more about my approach to therapy below.
