Almond Butter and Banana Toast

 

This quick and simple recipe is highly nutritious and contains a basic ingredient to address anxiety signals in the brain. Almonds are nutritious nuts, high in magnesium. Magnesium is an essential mineral our body requires but it is often lacking in the American Standard Diet due to the processing of our foods. When our bodies lack a sufficient amount of magnesium we may experience cravings for sweets such as chocolate. Evidence also shows magnesium may help relieve symptoms of anxiety and chronic stress. According to WebMD, Almonds have other health benefits for instance, almond butter helps to improve heart health, bone health and also helps to stabilize blood sugar levels.

But consuming food is not only about nutrition. Of course, we want to have great flavor combinations and even a bit of natural sweetness. That is why this recipe is not only simple but the flavor is DA BOMB DOT COM.

Only 3 ingredients are required…how simple can a recipe be?

Here is what you will need:

Ingredients


  • 1 slice Whole grain bread

  • 1 tbsp. Almond butter ( any nut butter will do)

  • 1/2 Banana

Directions

  • Place your slice of bread into the toaster

  • Place toasted bread onto a plate

  • Measure out your Almond butter/ nut butter ( unsalted almond butter is preferred)

  • Spread the almond butter onto the warm toast

  • Slice your banana into thin slices

  • Place the banana slices on top of the almond butter

Tips:

  • Almond butter often separates while stored at room temperature, be sure to stir it up prior to using it.

  • Try other nut butter to lead to a variety of flavors such as sunflower butter, cashew butter, etc.
